I recently moved into my apartment in Ellensburg, Washington and until this last Thursday night everything was fine. My roommate, who has lived here for a couple of years, warned me about this place, as did several other tenants, who claimed that a lot of the people that have lived in this building have had some form of paranormal experience. I somewhat believe in this kind of thing, but it never really bothered me. I was informed of a corner in the common area in which a poltergeist supposedly exists, so one night after a few alcoholic beverages I thought it might be a good idea to go stand in this corner and see if I could have a paranormal experience.
This was not a good idea. I don't know what was back there, but after standing in that corner for about 20 seconds I felt an overwhelming presence bearing down on me, as if pushing down on my shoulders, that threw me into a state of extreme despair and panic. I felt like I was really losing it, like I was on the brink of complete insanity. I ran out of that corner and out into the street and realized I had been cowering and sobbing uncontrollably. I did mention that I had a few drinks first, but this had nothing to do with being intoxicated, I know what liquor can and cannot do, and this experience was not induced by alcohol, nor was I taking any other drugs. Something was in that corner that is not of this world, or so it felt.
My apartment building is old, well over one hundred years, and I have since found on the brick on the exterior some VERY old looking faded words that say "Hospital." I have yet to hear back from my landlord, but it looks to me that I may be living in a building that used to be the hospital in Ellensburg, which would explain why the goddamn place is haunted. I have heard of other paranormal experiences associated with this building which include: a lady in a white dress that can be seen in my unit, a cat that isn't really there that goes through the walls, dragging sounds that are unexplainable, feelings of presence, and objects being unmistakably moved. I have not experienced anything but the cat and the corner I just described, but I am not entirely comfortable in my place, although I'm going to try and deal with this and stay here. Hell, at least the rent's super cheap.
