A dark figure in the road

Image Credit: (PD) One summer night I was driving home on a different route so that I could make it home before the curfew. The road I was on was long, rural and wooded and the streetlights were far a part which allowed the moonlight to shine through. I came to a spot known as "Dead Man's Curb" where I thought I saw something in the street so I put on my high beams to see better. As I approached I was horrified to see something that looked like a man dressed in all black standing in the middle of the road.

I stopped right in front of him, honking my horn and flashing my high beams in the attempt to make him move, but to no avail. His head was bowed and concealed beneath a hood so I was unable to see his face. When I tried to move past him via the oncoming lane the man seemed to glide across the street to get in front of me.At this point I was so scared that I picked up my phone to call the police, but after I had dialed I looked up just in time to see the man disappear into the woods. I told the police what I had seen and they said the would look in to it.

To this day I have heard of three other kids my age tell me that they'd seen the same thing in the same exact spot.
