Dowsing Rod
Also Divining Rod, Dowsing.
A device that is used as a means with which to locate underground water sources, precious metals or other desirable objects. The dowsing rod is usually either a fork shaped twig or a pair of metal l-shaped rods held in both hands. The dowser will simply think about the object they are seeking and walk around, the dowsing rod or rods will then shake or vibrate when nearing the target.
In some countries dowsing is an accepted method for locating water, minerals and even explosives. Some skeptics claim that the dowsing rods do nothing at all however there is a substantial following of people who would say otherwise.
