Cannock Chase has been the site of mysterious sightings and reports for years and 2010 doesn't look to be any different.
The area is not only a hotspot for sightings of UFOs and strange lights but also for tales of encounters with unusual creatures. In one recent report a resident walking her dog came across an enormous wolf-like animal that stood and stared at her for a while before turning and disappearing in to the woods.
Hound of the Cannock hills? A wave of paranormal and mysterious episodes in the town have helped usher in a new decade of spooky sightings, with readers encountering UFOs and wild wolves in the first week of the year.

But they don't disappear all the time. A few OP's insist on bumping their own threads whether anyone is commenting in them or not. I think they just like to see their names on the page. So true, which elevates the issue to incredibly annoying. However, to B???'s credit I have not seen him do that just yet. Cheers, Badeskov

I don't mind stories either, but they saw a dog and a couple of lights in the sky. I saw the same thing this morning. Well, I saw two dogs and several lights in the sky this morning (helicopters from a nearby Air Force base). I'm just about certain that this would not make for a very entertaining story though. Then again, maybe I'm getting cynical in my old age.

I don't know why everyone's so angry. The UFO aspect may be a little tenuous (perhaps it'd be better suited for Cryptozoology), but I think as an ABC (or whatever the equivalent is for canines) encounter it seems perfecly worthy, particularly if this is indeed part of a series of occurrences. "Werewolves" is obviously a bit of journalistic spin.

I agree, Zenfahr, in the sense that if a topic is not worth discussing it will not be discussed and simply disappear. However, when the quantity of new topics reaches a certain amount on a continuous basis it becomes a nuisance and that is what I current see happening. I too like to see new topics, and as it is some will be of interest, some will not - and the latter I will simply not comment on. However, when the intention seems to be just flooding the forum with new topics where it looks like little or no effort has been put into the screening of said topics, let alone an interest in discuss... I am a mountain biker and I use cannock chase as one of my regular training grounds. Its a known fact that cannock chase, being a large, mostly undisturbed area of habitat, is a haven for amongst other thing stray/feral dogs. I myself crashed into a large angry looking hound just last summer. Its reaction was simply to give me a disgruntled bark and walk off. I think this is probably what the person saw but perhaps if she is less familiar with the area didn't know these hounds exist and maybe her memory over exagerated the situation somewhat. Not being sceptical, just stating the facts.
