A new study has compared neanderthals and modern humans to see how they'd perform in a race.
The results suggest that modern humans would have had the edge over neanderthals in a long endurance race due to the length of certain limb bones. Neanderthals however would have been better at walking long distances and were physically stronger.
"Humans, versus other great apes, are built for running fast and long as opposed to very impressive strength, but what about Neanderthals? If a modern human and a Neanderthal competed in a marathon, who would win?."
