Lost Maya city revealed in rainforest

Three-dimensional mapping has been used to reveal a long lost city in the Guatemalan rain forest.
The remains of hundreds of buildings have been identified beneath the undergrowth belonging to the Maya city of Holtun including a massive stone pyramid, an astronomical observatory and a number of stone houses.Though it's long been known to locals that something—something big—is buried in this patch of Guatemalan rain forest, it's only now that archaeologists are able to begin teasing out what exactly Head of Stone was.
