After a 15-year break from space exploration, Russia is sending a spacecraft to Mars' moon Phobos.
Having been absent from the robotic space exploration scene for almost two decades, Russia is poised to launch a bold mission to Mars in an attempt to be not only the first spacecraft to land on Phobos but to collect soil samples from it and return them to Earth for study. The mission is scheduled to launch on November 9th.
In a bold attempt to revive its long-dormant planetary exploration program, Russia is scheduled to launch a new, technologically sophisticated spacecraft this week to gather soil samples from a Martian moon and bring them back to Earth for analysis.

In 1958 a Russian scientist said that the moon was hallow and could be artifical. See Phobos mooon artifical on google. Later data showed that at least 1/3 of the moon is hallow. Another mystery about it is that it was described in Guillver's Travels first pubished in 1735. Both Phobos and Deimos were described, but THE DISCOVERY OF THEM DID NOT TAKE PLACE UNTIL 1877. How did the author know about these moons? Maybe the Russian probe will tell give us the answer, an aswer which could shake the very foundations of our unscientific community.

You mean Phobos is a death star (Star Wars music in the background)? Would make sense, Phobos = Fear.

1989: One of the last images relayed to earth in detail by the Russian Phobos II camera before data transmission was lost was an enormous elliptical shadow on the surface of Mars -- cigar-shaped, and an estimated 16 miles in length. The size of this object ruled out the possibility that it was a reflection of the Phobos spacecraft itself. Because of its position, its symmetrical shape, its size and its movement, no features on the surface of Mars in the area in front of the probe, nor the satellite moons of Phobos and Deimos, nor the Phobos II spacecraft itself could account for this shadow pa... I really hope this goes well for them as all of the Russia's 15 previous missions to Mars have failed. This is one incredibly complicate mission to top it off. Edit: ooopss that was quick it already has
