Scientists have made the first steps towards being able to download skills directly in to the brain.
It isn't quite on par with the movie "The Matrix" in which Keanu Reeves has the skill of kung-fu downloaded in to his mind in a few hours, but it is an essential first step - researchers have succeeded in hacking the brain by inducing brain patterns in order to produce a learned behaviour. In the future this technology could be used to make someone a skilled musician or athlete for instance without them having to actually learn anything.
For the first time, researchers have been able to hack into the process of learning in the brain, using induced brain patterns to create a learned behavior.
