Giant penguin fossil found in New Zealand

Fossils have been discovered of an ancient penguin which stood taller than the Emperor penguin.
At a height of roughly 5 feet and weighing in at a hefty 130 lbs, the newly discovered species of ancient penguin would have lived millions of years ago in what is now New Zealand. Thought to have walked the Earth for over 25 million years it is thought that a change in the environment may have pushed them to extinction. The birds' size allowed them to dive deeper and swim further than their modern counterparts.Fossilised remains of one of the largest penguins ever, an "elegant" giant standing 1. 3 metres (52 inches) tall, have been found in New Zealand, scientists said Tuesday.
