A man in China made a startling discovery when visiting a doctor to seek treatment for a swollen stomach.

The unnamed 66-year-old was told that the swelling was due to an ovarian cyst, leading to the revelation that he wasn't actually a man at all. After undergoing a series of tests it was revealed that he was suffering from two rare genetic disorders that had remained undiagnosed for most of his life. Turner Syndrome affects around 1 in 2,000 baby girls while congenital adrenal hyperplasia is known to increase male hormones.

"Were it not due to the huge ovarian cyst, his intriguing medical condition might never have been exposed," wrote his doctors in a report which also mentioned that he intended to continue living as a man despite the discovery. He will receive treatment for the condition along with a testosterone replacement to maintain his current state and appearance.

"A Chinese man who went to the doctors with a swollen stomach was told that he is actually a woman."

well I may not know everything, but I thought as the fetus develops the ovaries either drop down into testicles or stay where they are for true females??? So he may have had a BIG clue something was up by the fact he didn't find any balls to scratch in the morning, as we men tend to do. don't give away our secrets

don't give away our secrets I had a very kind GF once that wasnt very quick witted, just for fun (but acting seriously) - I said I thought I could feel a tiny lump on one of them, and she kindly rolled them round and kneaded them very gently for quite some time (taking me seriously) Man I enjoyed that one!! But- fool me once she said... .

Itchy are they? They make some very good anti-fungal creams/powders for that problem. Yeah, it does indeed seem a bit *odd* that this fellow didn't realize he was missing his testicles.

But remember this person has a rare genetic disorder that makes distinguishing gender far more difficult. From the article: oh. Thank You Lilly, i admit it, i didn't read the link wow, that would be hard to deal with.

The guy should have suspected something when he realized he had fifteen pairs of shoes in his closet and didn't think The Three Stooges was funny.
