Dream the answer

People are always looking for solutions to their challenges in life. Many people find what they are searching for every night. How can that be? They dream the answer. Here are my suggestions for remembering your dreams and getting the guidance you are looking for:

1) Put a pen and paper beside your bed and write down a question. Have a bottle of water and drink some as you ask the question. If privacy is a problem, put the question in your diary or locked computer file. Silently ask yourself the question before you go to sleep.

2) Keep doing this ritual nightly. As with anything you want in your life, you have to keep your focus on what you want. If you want to have dreams give you guidance then you have to ask and accept the answers as they arrive. It can take days to figure them out, sometimes years.

3) Do not move your body position when you awake. Stay in the same spot and allow the flow from dream life to waking life take place. It is the same as going from one room to do something and having to go back to the original room because you have forgotten what you are doing.

Last fall, I had a dream that woke me up giving me a queasy feeling in my abdomen. Somehow my daughter hurt herself and then our cat Shadow was missing her head and I was trying to put her back together again. Within a few days, the door was left open from visitors and Shadow got away. Shortly after, my daughter fell down the stairs at school and her right foot was put in a cast for a month.
Dreams can come in the opposite order of occurrence. You see the last event first. The last thing I saw was about Shadow. Trying to re-attach her head would have been us trying to locate her. It felt to me that both of these events were meant to happen and I was powerless to stop them.

However, I quickly set about asking a higher power for assistance. To give me dreams relaying the answers. I was shown that my daughter hurt herself because she was distraught about losing her kitty cat. The other information given to me was of seeing Shadow hiding somewhere and afraid to come out. I knew she was alive.

My dreams became more vivid as the weeks passed. I could feel Shadow’s kisses. I could feel her cuddled into my legs at night. It was so real. One day, I woke up with a complete knowing that everything would be okay even though I was not shown how. It was terribly worrisome as she was only 2 years old and was not an outside cat. The weather had gotten really cold and it had snowed a lot.

Three weeks had gone by and I was praying fervently for Shadow to come home. A knock came at our door. It was the lady who lived two doors down. She thought she found Shadow on her Cat’s grave in her backyard. She was right. Shadow was so thin with her white belly and black hair. Her distinct feature was purring with her mouth open. We knew we found her.

We believe that a spiritual force guided Shadow to the cat woman’s house to get her back to us. We nicknamed our neighbour ‘cat woman’ because she takes care of a lot of cats for the shelter. I tuned into that spiritual force via my dreams to bring back the information into my waking life. Even though I had no outward proof that Shadow would be coming home, I knew in my heart it was to be. We were connecting at night in my dreams.

Shadow is healthy now. She slept cuddled into my legs for two weeks straight, probably to stay warm and to feel safe. My daughter’s foot healed up nicely too.

Hi I was skeptical about this dream stuff. During the past few years as I am now getting older I was really questioning the REASON we are here to begin with. Is this life really worth all the bother of getting up each day, working just to pay the bills and not enough time in between to enjoy life as I used to when I was young. The endless rat race was really getting to me, as was the fact that I was getting old and my health was not as good as it used to be. And for what purpose? Just to work to pay the bills in the endless ratrace we call living?? What was the point? Well, Saturday the night ... [More]
