Since a young age, I have always loved and have been amazed by anything that was 'unexplained'. As I grew older and gained access to more information, my studies narrowed towards Ghosts and even more so towards Time Travel. The thought of being able to be placed in different time periods through any means has amazed me since day one. So basically for the last few years I have read theories, stories and whatever else I could get my hands on to try and broaden my knowledge about it. Until now I was undecisive to what I truly wanted to believe until I read one particular theory that, if possible, has me convinced that it's how my own time slip story could be explained. I'll give you a brief overview of a theory proposed by Jenny Randles from her book 'Time Storms: Amazing Evidance for Time Warps, Space Rifts and Time Travel'.
Randles proposed that a peculiar energy cloud can transport people (and very often their vehicles) into some unknown dimension. "The result for these people can be missing time (from just minutes to days), disorientation (what Randles calls the "Oz Factor"), teleporation over impossible distances, electronic failure, gravity anomalies and other phenomena. These peculiar, glowing clouds -- time storms -- just may be an explanation for a variety of paranormal phenomena, including ghosts, spirits, synchronicity, deja vu, UFOs and what is thought of as alien abductions". She also suggests that this isn't a paranormal occurance at all, and is a scientific reality that we don't know about yet.
I find this theory amazing as to how it can explain so many people's claims of missing time, relocation and other forms of time or dimension slips. Of course without proof of this actual cloud, it is just another theory and to skeptics, it makes just as much sense as the rest of the theories out there. What has me leaning towards this particular theory as being possibly correct is what happened to me almost a year ago:
This little event happened to me in Fall, 2006, around 1:30 in the morning on a fairly nice night. I'm from a small town in Newfoundland, Canada, with nothing to make the town anything special, but what happened to a friend and me is definitely one of the strangest things that I have ever encountered.
My friend and I were driving home one night from another friend's house and we were on this stretch of road no more than a kilometer long, kind of a back road type thing. It was a nice night with stars out, warm and whatnot. About 30 seconds onto this road comes a turn, nothing strange yet. So when we got to the turn and it was foggy all of a sudden, which is no surprise because where I'm from it's constantly foggy, so we paid no attention to it. Around this turn the road turns from flat to a hill you drive up and, and for some reason, it seemed like it took us forever to get up it, even though we were doing 70 km/h. So we eventually get to the top of the hill where there is another turn in the road and then it flattens out again. When we get there and got around the turn, the fog disappears - and we're all of a sudden back at the bottom of the hill! All we could think was, WHAT JUST HAPPENED? This whole road shouldn't take you any longer than five minutes to drive, but I remember us looking at the time and wondering why 15 minutes had gone by and why we were still at the same point. I will never forget the feeling we had and when we both just kinda looked at each other wondering what had happened just then. It might be nothing paranormal but I'd just like to know what happened and where 15 minutes went and how we got back to the bottom of the hill. So you see why I would like that theory so much, it's fairly descriptive of what happened to me that night.
There are just too many stories out there to pass off time travel (relocation, etc) as impossible, I read countless numbers every year. What makes me wonder is why so many people will not accept the fact that maybe, just maybe, there is more going on around them than their eyes can see. I know I have accepted the fact that it is also possible that there isn't! On that note I will leave you with your own mind made up, but I will be researching further with hopes of maybe finding out more about this particular phenomena, and hopefully someday I'll be the the one to have the proof.
