Reports on possible future technologies have revealed the concept of a television screen on the inside of a contact lens that would be powered by body heat and which could be available within a decade.
The sets would be powered by the viewer's body heat, according to Ian Pearson, a so-called "futurologist" who has advised leading companies including BT on new technologies. Mr Pearson told the Daily Mail he believed that channels could be changed by voice command or via a wave of the hand. Meanwhile "emotional viewing" could be another development in television technology, according to a report commissioned by the technology retailer Comet. "

I remember when I was around 12 yrs old and reading Popular Mechanics I believe it was and they were making predictions about future technology. This was 35 yrs ago and they said that by the turn of the century (please correct me if I'm wrong PM) instead of TV sets, we'd have entertainment rooms with 360* holographics where we could watch a show as if the characters were actually there. We would be able to walk around it and view it from different angles. They also said we would be able to control our favorite characters to do what we wanted them to do or make a show go as we want it to go (th... [More]

Because you call TV a wonder? With the type of programming there is, no tv should be watched. I don't remember calling TV a wonder and I don't know where you are getting that idea. IMO most of the programming on TV is nothing but garbage. I spend most of my TV time watching shows from the 50's and 60's, a time when you didn't have to swear, insult, have sex or gruesomely kill someone to entertain. Some of the other channels are DIY, History, Discovery, PBS, etc... I also agree with the other posters about being in the car. Nothing get's me more hot under the collar than having someone in front... [More]

So finding the remote, going to the television, or even pressing a button has become too physcally demanding... I guess the only positive is if you had to attend an unimportant social event, a bad date, or a family gathering, you can always catch the game on your lenses. Knowing how stupid people can be, of course they'll "try" to drive with their lenses on. Hmmm, or another way to pass the time in class.

I'm not sure if this would work. I don't know about the rest of you but anything less than 2-3 inches from my eyes, I can't see clearly. I'm not sure if a human eye can even focus on something that close
