Skeptics challenge conspiracy theorists

There's nothing wrong with conspiracy theories per se. Challenging accepted beliefs and versions of events is a valid thing to do. The tricky bit is being able to remain objective whilst examining the evidence. I have to recogonise your well put point. You've hit the nail. We "moon landings defenders" are too itchy sometimes with the subjects, but lives were risked, lost and almost lost so that is understandable. And since the conspiracy has escalated greatly during the years, this horrible "itch" has escalated proportionally and so we scratch with more intensity.

UFOs aren't really a conspiracy. We pretty much know UFOs exist(In both the literal definition of "UFO" and the "Something odd" context), the problem is that we don't know WHAT they are. Your dealing with humans and we in general have a hard time detaching our emotions from our study. Everyone has a bias, and if they don't admit it then they're either lying or simply not human.
