NASA has stated that recent tabloid headlines claiming life has been found on Mars are "positively false".
NASA had previously announced that the Mars rovers had found minerals on the planet's surface however some newspapers misinterpreted this and published headlines suggesting NASA had announced the discovery of life on Mars.
Despite recent media reports that NASA found evidence for life on Mars, the U. S. space agency says proof that we are not alone is still a ways off. A Wednesday article in the U. K. 's "The Sun" newspaper entitled, "NASA: Evidence of Life on Mars," reported that they agency had unveiled "compelling evidence" for Martian organisms. But NASA officials and veteran Mars mission scientists say "no. "

Heh heh - good luck on playing this one down, NASA. More and more, your little proverbial goose is cooked. how can nasa have cooked goose when there are no geese on mars.

I don't trust tabloids to any degree, but I do think that the more people talk about it in whatever medium we have, the more the word gets out and the more the pressure builds.

I would think if NASA found life on Mars, the news would have come out straight from the horse's mouth and not from some disrespectful joke of a newspaper.

Here's a man who claims he has proven life exists on Mars, and not just micro-organisms. This is the first part of an extensive interview with Andrew Basiago, a lawyer. Do yourself a favour and listen to the first several segments, found at .I'm not saying he's for real. Best for folks to find out for themselves.

As I have learned time and time again here, unless the conditions are the same as found here on Earth, life can not exist. I've heard it said over and over so it must be true. To think there is even the slightest possibility of life existing in a non-Earth environment is just pure lunacy..........................YA right

The Sun printed an article to sell papers and NASA has had to clear the air. I don't know why they would even take the effort to rebute a tabloid article, but they did, so here we are. Is there life on Mars? Yeah maybe, 30 years ago science would have said probably not, but in that time science has found that life can exist under extreme conditions and has revisited an old idea of panspermia. Maybe in our lifetime science will discover that there is life on Mars. When and if that does happen, I won't be looking for the "The Sun" tabloid to break the news.

Just a simple mistake Most people don't have cameras on them at all times, so most encounters are believed to have just been in people's heads, and they get called crazy. And with all the fakes circulating, even less would believe. That's a big help if there really is a cover up. Believing any encounters, vids or pics of aliens is like believing someone wouldn't cheat on you again, if they've done it a dozen times.

Although I don't believe that mars host life now, If water really did flow there once, as supposed dry river beds suggest, it would be a rich archeology site.

I think most missed the major mistake in the article, in that the editors jokingly referred to The Sun as a NEWSpaper. I really didn't think The Sun would need debunking.
