Herbal remedies to be banned in Europe

Totally agree, modern medicine has proved a godsend to civilization in general. Herbs and homeopathic medicine might be "natural", but it is woefully inadequate in treating serious, infectious illnesses. That I agree with.

This reminds me of the a law the U.S. government tried to pass in the 90's. I believe it was proposed by the FDA. It's not banning the sell of herbs, but the sell of herbs marketed as cures, unless they are proven to be effective. In other words, those people who market scams that state they can cure X with a helping of garlic and lime will have to prove their results before they can sell it. If you visit a Walmart in the states there's an entire section devoted to herbal "remedies" that offer several different effects, while under the warning they've not been proven to be affective.

The earth grows enough food for humanity as well, yet half teh world lives in poverty. this alone is another topic all together. Then you should be able to PROVE it does, not just say it does, or get offended when people find fault with such therapies when the predominance represented is fraud.

It is absurd to think that the plants of the world designed themselves just for the betterment of mankind. Because if you do then you will have to believe in God because this would be just too much of a a evolutionary coincidence. The chemicals in plants are there to protect and maintain the plant not cure a person. There are some chemicals in plants that work and are only used to soothe or somehow remove symptoms, not cure.
