Scientists have been able to retrieve sound from recordings made in Alexander Graham Bell's lab.
Bell had made the recordings to safeguard against having his ideas stolen and had sent them to the Smithsonian Institute, his team had been working on improving the sound quality of Thomas Edison's phonograph. It isn't known if any of the voices on the recordings is that of Bell himself however there were only two other people working with him at the time suggesting that one of them could be him.
cientists from Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory have succeeded in using 3D optical scanning technology to effectively lift the voices from 125 year old recordings created by researchers working in Alexander Graham Bell’s Volta laboratory.
