Scientists at MIT have created a special suit that simulates the physical difficulties of old age.
Volunteers tried out the suit on a trip to the supermarket to get an idea of what being in their mid 70s might be like. The suit features large rubber bands to keep the arms from extending, braces to stiffen the shoulders, a spine-curving helmet and a pair of glasses that make the wearer short-sighted.
By putting on this suit, architects, store designers, and other professionals preoccupied with how people interact with the physical world can get a sense of what old age is like, and design accordingly.

Japan...what are they thinking? They compete against American invention, but we keep trying. We had the empathy belly for like 3 decades and the same maker invented the empathy lungs to simulate lung disease used in medical clinics and sensitivity training/bedside manner seminars. I can't say the "aging or senior suit" makes more adult children of the elderly want to take care of their parents alot more, but our modern society should feel shame and remorse for involuntarily commitment of the elderly into senior homes.
