Researchers 'cloak' a 3-dimensional object

New research has rendered a 3D object invisible to the microwave region of the electromagnetic spectrum.
There have been significant advances in the development of cloaking technology in recent years involving different methods for rendering objcts undetectable. This latest method involves using a shell made of plasmonic materials which effectively 'cancels out' the object being cloaked and thus renders it invisible. Light of all types can be described in terms of electric and magnetic fields, and what gives an object its appearance is the way its constituent atoms absorb, transmit or reflect those fields.
