A 23-ton Lego model of a Star Wars X-Wing fighter has been unveiled at an event in New York.
The massive project was revealed at Times Square and measured 44ft across while requiring 5,335,200 Lego bricks to build. According to Lego this means that it breaks the world record for the largest Lego model ever constructed, the previous record holder was a Lego robot built at the Mall of America which used two million breaks less than the X-Wing.

The model was built over the course of 17,336 man hours by a team of 32 expert builders at the Lego Model Shop at the company's facility in Kladno, Czech Republic. "This has been a wild and exciting project for us, and it's taken an international team of designers, engineers, structural consultants, model builders, and logistics personal over a year to bring this model from a conception to reality," said master builder Erik Varszegi.[!gad]The massive project was revealed at Times Square and measured 44ft across while requiring 5,335,200 Lego bricks to build. I don't know, the purple ones are for Primary Characters only. Mace Windu, Anikin Skywalker (The second), and other characters with a backstory/book of their own. . sam jackson had a bit of a hissy fit about his purple lightsaber. after the theatrical release, he had ILM doctor the dvd & blu-ray releases so he was the only one to have a purple one!! miserable hat-wearing git!
