'Ghost' turns out to be man stuck in chimney

Brad Sapp thought he was going mad when he started hearing a voice in the early hours of the morning.
Sapp had been sorting out cans at the redemption center that he owns in Carroll, Iowa when he thought he heard the words "get out of here" being uttered by someone nearby.

Perplexed, he searched the whole building but found nothing to explain the phenomenon.

The next morning he told his wife who jokingly dismissed the incident as a 'ghost', but when she too heard someone crying out from within the building's walls the pair ended up calling the police.
The source of the voice, as it turned out, was a 29-year-old former acquaintance who had somehow managed to get himself hopelessly wedged inside the building's chimney.

Even more peculiar was the fact that when he was eventually rescued he was found to be wearing no clothes at all having seemingly removed them before entering the chimney to help him fit inside.

The perpetrator, who offered the rather implausible explanation that he had gotten stuck 'while playing hide-and-seek', has since been arrested and is now facing trespassing charges.
