Two men caught after taking 15 years off work

Two government employees in Spain managed to skip work without anyone else noticing for over 15 years.
Skipping the odd day off work is something that many people will have done at some point in their lives, but two men in southern Spain took this to a whole new level when they took advantage of a loophole in their work agreement to remain home from the office for more than a decade.

The duo, who were representatives for the General Confederation of Labor union (CGT), were only found out after the authority's human resources department started to investigate staff records.
It is not the first time that the town of Jerez de la Frontera has been in hot water over labor issues either - a separate investigation revealed that some of the local police union had also been skipping work for most of the year with some employees only showing up for as little as two months.

"This government again confirms its decision to end the irregular labor situations that may have been happening for some time within the breast of the town hall," the local government stated.

It remains unclear what, if any, disciplinary actions will be taken against those involved.
