Man steals truck to attend 'alien rendezvous'

Image Credit: PD / Photovision / Pixabay The bizarre incident began when police in Utah were alerted to a vehicle theft by the owner of a red pickup truck who reported that it had been stolen from outside a 7-Eleven store in Salt Lake County.

When officers arrived at the scene however the owner revealed that the man suspected of stealing the truck had since returned it to the place he had stolen it from and was now on the run.

The suspect was quickly apprehended and taken to a local hospital to receive treatment for a wound he had sustained when the truck's owner had punched him in the face.While he was there however, he attempted to escape police custody three times.

He then apologized to officers and stated that he had an urgent need to "get to the Colosseum to get on a flight with alien diplomats."

He was ultimately booked for suspected theft and three counts of attempted escape.
