Is this a creature or an optical illusion ? Image Credit: YouTube / MrMBB333
A woman who had been camping in England last summer managed to capture this eerie photograph in the middle of the night.
The unnerving image recently came to light thanks to the YouTuber 'MrMBB333' who received an email from a man who had obtained the photograph from the partner of a family friend.
According to the email, the women had been sleeping in her tent during a camping trip to a site in Edenbridge, Kent back in the summer of 2020 when she was awoken by a strange noise.
It was around 3am and still dark outside, so when she looked out she was unable to see anything in the gloom.
Grabbing her camera, she took a few pictures using the flash to illuminate her surroundings.
When she checked the photographs, one of them seemed to show an unidentified creature perched in a tree next to the campsite.
While it's difficult to make out exactly what the creature is (or even if it is a creature at all), the photograph is certainly creepy.
You can check out the video below, skip to around 1:45s to view the segment about the photograph.
Could this be a real creature, a case of pareidolia, or simply a hoax ?
Hello and welcome to the forum, and yes you are certainly allowed to post a YouTube video or anything else you would like too so long as it is in good taste! Thanks for your post, .i will look forward to your video
This is not a raccoon. I've seen plenty of them wandering the neighborhood at night. Why, because our city park is just a block or two away, and there is woodlands on the other side of the creek. Looking at the head and chest area, and the way it is crouched, looks more human in shape than a true animal. We have deer, skUNKS owls , etc. They the next county over across the creek from our park, has in the past let people know about coyotes. This doesn't look like a canine, nor some sort of cat. Wonder if it is some weird guy in the woods, and he looks nude.
I don;t think the youtube video shows the photo - just what appears to be small crop taken from it. In any case it shows nothing of interest. But hey, "townie scared by bird in the night, takes pictures of tree" doesn't quite get the same attention.
