Medium claims old Bible was placed in attic by ghost

Paranormal investigator Yvonne Hydes got quite a surprise when she found that the book had materialized in her house.
Yvonne, who hosts paranormal tours and events with The Scottish Ghost Company, first became suspicious when she discovered the old book in her attic despite having never seen it before.

Her husband, Alex, had no idea where it had come from either.

"I was completely confused as I use the loft regularly, at first I assumed my husband had been up the same day and put it there," Yvonne told The Daily Record.

"We had no idea who it belonged to or where it came from as we have lived in the house for 24 years and are up and down in the loft regularly and both had never seen it before."

Her first thought was that the Bible was connected to her grandmother, however it turned out that she had no recollection of it either and neither did anyone else in the family.

"We really have no idea who or where it came from. None," she said.
As it happened, however, medium and investigator David McCabe did have an idea of where the mysterious book might have come from - the site of a previous investigation in Ayreshire.

"I believe that this is a classic example of an 'Apport' - which is where an object disappears from one location and reappears in another," he said.

"I think the original owner of the Bible was a resident at a derelict building that we investigated. Having figured out who we were and him wanting his family to have his Bible, he decided to make it appear in Yvonne's loft, knowing she would come across it."

Yvonne is now hoping to reunite the family of the Bible's owner - a World War II soldier by the name of Robert Litterick - with the book, if they can make contact with anyone who might know who he was.

"We would love to maybe be able to get it back to the original owner or their family," she said.

Hi Manwon,† I don't quite understand how not having an agreed upon definition of what constitutes life is relevant at all in terms of the limitations of science and its apparently inability to "explain" spirituality. A definiton is semantics created by humans for the purpose of human understanding and agreement. In reality and the observable universe however, what we currently agree upon to be "life" is observable, interactive, and tangible to the surrounding environment. By that, I mean we know it exists and how it works. And it works the same with or without human definitions, the existence ... [More]

What quality and consistency resides amongst apportation claims? Especially related to a Bible or religious object? Every investigation has exposed fraud. If you are going to call Lajos Pap credible, I suggest you don't.†

It doesn't matter what you consider credible.† Radin is not. Professional consensus illustrates that you are wrong.

Thatís what happens to every scientist who dare step outside science main stream norms. They are instantly blackballed.†

Nonsense. That's what happens to claimed scientists who can't back their claims up and make stuff up. What actual advance do you think he has made? What would you consider a meaningful contribution or discovery?

The paranormal is posited by many (including myself) to involve planes of nature outside of the realm of our physical three-dimensional senses and instruments (4th, 5th, ..... dimensions). So what this predicts is exactly what we see; Effects with no observable cause.† Science generally accepts already that the vast majority of matter in the universe is not directly detectable by our physical senses and instruments (so-called Dark Matter). So to science the best evidence that can be presented are Effects with no observable cause such as statistical anomalies that have no satisfactory current s... [More]

Here is one well documented set of cases that have not been exposed as fraud.

I find the consensus respects him and his detractors seem to be only those with some irrational bias against the paranormal.

What?† That's the so called scole experiment. It was a demonstration by hacks.† This is the first indication that the Scole experiment was not conducted under the tightest of controls. By allowing the psychics to conduct the seances in an environment they had access to prior to any test being conducted, they opened the door to an unlimited amount of rigging and tampering, including the secretion of objects around the seance table. When further tests were conducted with the same individuals in alternative locations, phenomena reported in the Foy's basement failed to manifest. † Now as to the qu... [More]

That's a not true though. As another poster already pointed out. The only people who support Radin are paranormal hopefulls.† Proof is a detractor is it?† I don't think so.
