At first glance, the mysterious animal is indeed unusual, sporting physical features and traits which seem to be from several different animals such as a cat, a lemur and a weasel.
"It's a mohawk lemur cat," one commenter wrote. "It's a raccoon-cat-stegosaurus!!!" wrote another.
As it turns out, however, the uploader of the video is Alexandra Ashe - a recovering drug addict who runs a nonprofit organisation which provides a home for over 40 exotic animals.
This particular creature is neither a cat or a weasel and is in fact known as a genet.
Most genets are found only in Africa, however one species can also be found in parts of Europe.
The genet in the video is known as Norma.
"Norma is a five-year-old genet who recently lost her companion," the organisation wrote. "We are so grateful to the Newport Discovery Zoo for entrusting us with this beauty!"

A short video clip of a very unusual animal recently racked up over 2 million views on TikTok.
The video, which was posted by TikTok user 'kinkatopia', gained attention due to the unusual appearance of the animal and its similarity to the fictional Pokemon creature Jolteon.At first glance, the mysterious animal is indeed unusual, sporting physical features and traits which seem to be from several different animals such as a cat, a lemur and a weasel.
