The incident allegedly involved a group of children who came across a large bipedal ape-like creature in the woods.
Bigfoot sightings are certainly not a new phenomenon, as evidenced by the recent revisiting of an old report submitted to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization back in 1999.

The incident itself occurred in 1963 and concerned a group of children who had been staying at the Cooks Valley Campground in Mendocino County, California.

They had been playing in a playground at the site when they suddenly became aware of a terrible, pungent smell coming from somewhere nearby - a combination of "rotting deer carcass and skunk".

After venturing out to investigate, the group caught sight of an 8ft-tall bipedal creature that was standing near the tree-line, apparently observing them from the base of a redwood tree.
The beast stared at them for a while before turning around and disappearing into the forest.

Several children who had been there at the time later provided matching descriptions of the event.

This wasn't the only notable encounter to occur in Mendocino County either - there is even a report detailing the case of three marijuana farmers who were allegedly killed by one of the creatures.

Predictably, however, no conclusive physical evidence of the perpetrator was ever found.

The horrible stench story again.   If it smelled that bad, it would be easy to find.

This is similar to what george told me, the ones who asked for smokes, etc still had a grasp but as he said others were more feral than human,  he saw them and he would say he was shocked more didnt get shot. The fellow you know was pretty damm lucky i believe a lot of people drop out and die, i also knew a guy jamie, lost it all lived in the woods for a spell but never gave up and worked hard and now has a great family and home.

"Stink" is a parrot symptom of BF tales based in fact, bears for example will eat dead stuff roll around in it and stink, we have a couple guys who try to get into the club who stink badly, no kidding one you can smell several feet away, its bad, i told the door man tell that cat if he stinks he cant come in. Sure if bigfoot was real it would likely have stink im turn easy to find any good hunting dog would be right on it.

This idea of tracking dogs and bigfoot doesnt seem to come up much but short of idiotic excuses like BF is a shapeshifting alien ghost pet from another dimension slipping in and out of ours there is zero excuse a pack of hunting dogs wouldnt find BF if it existed.

Dope farmers allegedly shot a BF?  WTF?  They could have made way more money from a BF carcass than they did from dope.  Frikkin' eejits!

I myself am a long term Covid hermit these days due to poor respiration despite my height.  Over the last couple of years I have been hiding out in the back woods of Massachusetts, but I have also become a dedicated Bigfoot hunter.  Many is the weekend I have spent in a shaggy ghillie suit, roaming the forests of the Bridgewater Triangle banging on trees with branches and hooting to attract a sasquatch.  It is also a very good idea to mask one's smell with various pungent and unpleasant scents so that if the wind changes the wildlife will not run from you because you smell like a human.Â... Please say you made a post like this in the past. I recall the two bigfoot hunter groups out in different parts in the same woods all in manic meltdown over their returned tree knocks all day long.

There was an interesting show on Hulu called "Sasquatch" which details the story of the three drug farmers supposedly killed by bigfoot, made by a drug farmer turned documentarian who was there in the area when it happened. It's more of a whodunnit than a cryptid hunt but worth a watch. I will stop there so no spoilers.

I place very little faith in the observational abilities of most people. I am 6' 2" and weigh about 200 pounds and was once shot at. I was sitting beside a tree and I guess I moved my foot. BOOM and little pellets showered me. Fortunately it was cold and I had several layers of clothes on me so I was not hurt. I WAS p***ed off though and was more than ready to return fire and if I could have caught him I would have wrapped his shotgun around a tree. He was yelling that he thought I was a squirrel and was sorry. I KNEW he was stupid and was offering him a few choice words as I chased him. I was... [More]
