The thief managed to make off with an eye-wateringly large amount of confectionary worth over $38,000.
Easter might still be a couple of months away, but that didn't stop 32-year-old Joby Pool from getting a hold of some chocolate eggs - 200,000 of them, to be exact.

In one of the weirdest heists we've ever heard of, Pool reportedly used a metal grinder to break through a locked gate at an industrial park in Telford, England and then stole a semi-truck pulling an entire trailer filled with hundreds of thousands of Cadbury's Creme Eggs and other treats.

He didn't actually get very far, however, as police officers following up on the break-in stopped his truck on the highway and promptly placed him under arrest.
Pool later pleaded guilty and was found to have a prior conviction for handling stolen goods.

Exactly how he had intended to sell off such a huge quantity of chocolate eggs without attracting attention to himself remains unclear.

His sentencing is expected to take place next month.
