What lurks within Penyffordd Farm ? Image Credit: YouTube / BBC Three
A farmhouse in a remote area of North Wales has been home to a wide range of paranormal occurrences.
Penyffordd Farm has seen so many cases of paranormal phenomena over the years that it has even attracted the interest of Hollywood.
Mother-of-four Rose-Mary Gower, whose experiences at the farm have been investigated for a new BBC documentary Paranormal: The Girl, The Ghost and The Gravestone, has spent years documenting the various occurrences that have taken place there.
These range from disembodied voices in empty rooms to sightings of full-blown apparitions.
In one case, a large wooden owl was seen moving on its own, while in another, the figure of a pregnant woman mysteriously appeared on the patio before vanishing into thin air.
"One day I was moving some dried flowers that had started to look a bit manky so I decided to throw them away," Gower wrote while documenting the occurrences.
"I took them from the lounge to the kitchen and put them on the counter, dropping petals all the while."
"Somebody came to the door and I was about 30 seconds, and when I came back every single petal had disappeared. They had been replaced by dead or dying half-drowned wasps."
"There was no sign of a wasps nest and all of the doors and windows were shut. Inexplicable."
Her records even attracted the interest of Hollywood producers looking to make a movie, but when Gower heard that it wouldn't be completely factual, she turned the offer down.
"They were going make up a load of stuff based on a true story and it was going to be ridiculous," she said. "I would not ever sanction that. You either have a true story or you don't have it at all."
It's truly a marvel how these ethereal entities manage to maintain such consistent attendance in our mortal realm. One can only imagine the ghostly calendar meetings and spectral RSVPs that must be involved in orchestrating such a grand display of otherworldly activity. It's almost as if the afterlife has its own version of advertising for a coming movie, with restless spirits eagerly competing for the title of "Most Hauntingly Creative."
Clearly, these people are making tons of money and getting rich and famous; the risk that random internet people would think they are goofy is one most would be willing to take. #putheiinomniscient
Yet they turned down the offer of a blockbuster movie. There's some in the documentary. I watched it last night and found it very interesting. Whether I think it's a hoax or not is hard to say, which actually says a lot considering I'm not inclined to believe in ghosts. The main reason I wanted to watch it is because of its location, I'm familiar with that part of the world. There is a lot of weird happenings in it, either that or a lot of fibs being told. It all boils down to proof really, or in this case lack of, and how much the viewer is willing to believe.
