Ring launches contest offering $1 million for evidence of aliens

The popular doorbell camera brand is offering a large cash sum to anyone who can capture evidence of extraterrestrials.
The contest, which is being launched as part of the firm's Halloween celebrations, will run from now until November 3rd and each entry will be required to provide 'scientific evidence of extraterrestrials' in order to potentially qualify for the sizable $1 million prize.

The competition is clearly intended to be tongue-in-cheek, meaning that the entries are likely to be awarded based more on entertainment value than anything else, but it will certainly be interesting to see the winning entry, if there is one.
"To be eligible to win the Grand Prize of $1 million, as provided by the Official Rules, entrants must submit Scientific Evidence documenting an Extraterrestrial before the end of the Promotion Period," the official website states.

It is certainly not outside the realms of possibility for a Ring doorbell camera to pick up evidence of the unexplained - over the years we've seen footage from doorbell cameras purporting to show strange lights in the sky, spooky figures walking down the street and mystery figures standing in gardens.

In all likelihood, however - especially given that there will be a fair few 'aliens' trick-or-treating this Halloween season - the chances of anyone submitting a winning entry that isn't just a person in a costume are likely to be remote to say the least.

If your definition of "evidence of ET" is limited to a video of an alien grey bragging about coercing the termination of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine to help cover for said alien grey's deadbeat bag man of a son, then, no, there is no evidence of ET.  Hey, we kinda agree for once!

Well.... can I please see it? I tried one time and got a whole series of blurry grainy pic on my phone that were completely unrecognisable as anything, i was so excited thinking i got pics and... nothing! Also don't you have to ring the bell for a video? So we are expecting et to use doorbells now? Good luck, they don't need to knock or open the door to get in.

Ring has a decent line of regular security cameras. I assume that would be the way to catch said evidence.

Great marketing campaign.  You might win a million dollar prize if you buy a Ring, and you know you were thinking about it.
