Ring launches contest offering $1 million for evidence of aliens

The competition is clearly intended to be tongue-in-cheek, meaning that the entries are likely to be awarded based more on entertainment value than anything else, but it will certainly be interesting to see the winning entry, if there is one."To be eligible to win the Grand Prize of $1 million, as provided by the Official Rules, entrants must submit Scientific Evidence documenting an Extraterrestrial before the end of the Promotion Period," the official website states.

It is certainly not outside the realms of possibility for a Ring doorbell camera to pick up evidence of the unexplained - over the years we've seen footage from doorbell cameras purporting to show strange lights in the sky, spooky figures walking down the street and mystery figures standing in gardens.

In all likelihood, however - especially given that there will be a fair few 'aliens' trick-or-treating this Halloween season - the chances of anyone submitting a winning entry that isn't just a person in a costume are likely to be remote to say the least.
