Irate beekeeper sets swarm of bees on police officers during traffic stop

Bees can be a deadly weapon. Image Credit: CC BY-SA 3.0 Waugsberg The incident, which occurred in Spain's Catalonia region, reportedly began when the vehicle was pulled over for driving erratically and because the driver wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

The man exhibited hostility toward the police as soon as they approached and shouted "I should have run you over!" before being asked to take a breathalyzer test.

When the result revealed that he was over the limit, officers asked him to repeat the test for confirmation.

Instead of complying, however, he quickly went into the back of his van and unleashed thousands of bees from a hive that he had been transporting.The bees swarmed the officers and began to sting the two men relentlessly.

When they fled to a nearby restaurant to take cover, the beekeeper sneakily drove away.

The two cops, who ended up in hospital due to sustaining multiple stings, were able to call for reinforcements and the beekeeper was quickly tracked down and arrested.

Strangely, according to unconfirmed reports, he was later acquitted of any wrongdoing.
