The composer and impresario claimed in a recent interview that his former abode had been haunted by a mischievous ghost.
Lloyd Webber, who is well known for creating the music for several legendary musicals including
Phantom of the Opera and
Cats, was recently asked by
The Telegraph if he was aware of any ghosts that might haunt the various theaters that he has owned and worked in over the years.
It's a good question, as stories of ghosts roaming the back rooms of various historic theaters in the UK are not uncommon and he has certainly been in many such places throughout his long career.
The Theater Royal, Drury Lane, for example, is said to be home to the mysterious 'Man in Grey' and there are numerous other historic theaters said to be haunted within the city of London alone.
Surprisingly, though, it wasn't a theater but one of his own homes in which Lloyd Webber had experienced something potentially supernatural.
"I did have a house in Eaton Square which had a poltergeist," he said.
"It would do things like take theater scripts and put them in a neat pile in some obscure room."
From the sounds of it, though, the ghost didn't pose much of an issue for him.
"In the end we had to get a priest to come and bless it, and it left," he said.
