Elon Musk says 'I am an alien' in strange interview exchange

Musk is no stranger to joking around. Image Credit: Trevor cokley People have always said that there is something otherworldly about Elon Musk and now he has come out and confirmed it... well, sort of.

Speaking via webcam during an interview at Europe's Viva Tech event this week, Musk was quick to offer a tongue-in-cheek reply when the host quipped: "Some people believe you are an alien."

"I am an alien," Musk replied.

"You are? Now you are uncovered," the host replied.

"Yes, I tell people I'm an alien but nobody believes me," Musk confirmed.While Musk was probably just having a laugh, it's inevitable that his comments will fuel conspiracy theories about his life and enormous successes in the tech industry.

There are also some who have perceived his remarks as more metaphorical than literal.

"This sentiment captures the unique experience of having a different and powerful way of thinking, relating, and perceiving the world, which can indeed feel like being an alien from another planet," wrote Twitter user Davoid Soiza.

Ultimately, though, his comments were most likely intended as little more than a joke.
