Are these the footprints of a ghost ? Image Credit: AmarinTV / YouTube
Local residents say that the footprints lead to the deceased man's house and won't wash away with water.
In a strange story out of Thailand this week, residents of Rayong have claimed that mysterious footprints that have appeared outside their homes on the street are those of their deceased neighbor.
The man, known in the area as "Uncle", was a fisherman who would often visit a nearby shop.
Bizarrely, the trail of phantom footprints seems to stop at Uncle's house at one end of the trail and outside the shop at the other - mimicking the route that he would have often taken.
Residents initially believed that someone had been trying to pull a prank, but when CCTV footage of the street was reviewed to find out who was responsible, there was no sign of anyone.
Even stranger still is the fact that attempts to wash the footprints away have so far come up empty as the prints seem to mysteriously reappear on their own.
Just before Uncle had died, he claimed to have experienced a premonition in which he would purchase sweets for the local children if his fishing catch was particularly bountiful.
After he returned home, he fell in his bathroom and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
So could Uncle's ghost be haunting the street outside his home - perhaps walking to the local shop to buy sweets for the local kids - or is there another, more conventional explanation ?
You decide.
Some news footage (in Thai) with some images and footage of the prints can be viewed below.
For the fans of the Papameter Papameter Reading 75% Paranormal 15% Natual 10% Hoax It strikes me as the fairly often reported phenomena of a dead person repeating and repeating his familiar routine even after death. Spirit guides will likely soon tell him to "Get an Afterlife!'. And the phenomena will stop as mysteriously as it began.
Looking at the pictures the first thing I thought was someone had stood in paint. That also could explain why the footprints don't wash away with water.
