Physicist suggests that the Bible holds proof that we live in a simulation

Prof Melvin Vopson maintains that God could in fact be an artificial intelligence governing our artificial reality.
What if we told you that the world you live in isn't real ?

It might sound like a concept straight out of the Keanu Reeves science fiction favorite The Matrix, but according to some of the world's top minds, the idea that we are living inside a computer simulation is not only possible, but perhaps even more likely than the idea that we are living in the real world.

But if that was true, how would we go about proving it ?

According to physicist Melvin Vopso - an associate professor in physics at the University of Portsmouth - the key to proving that we live in a simulation could lie in the pages of the Bible.

For example, the Gospel of John states:

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
Vopso maintains that "the Word" is in fact the underlying code that governs the simulation.

"The code running the simulation is not separate from the divine, but rather an integral part of it, perhaps an AI," he explained to Mail Online.

"It implies a Creator who brought the simulated universe into existence through the Word (i.e. the code). It suggests that the act of creation, as described in the Bible, could be analogous to a divine act of programming and simulation."

"What is truly remarkable is that the interpretation given is fully aligned to the events of our times: the emergence of the AI, and also it is exactly what The Matrix was projecting."

As things stand, however, there is no way to confirm one way or the other that we are actually living in a computer simulation, let alone that the pages of the Bible are trying to tell us something about it.

"Instead of viewing the simulated universe hypothesis as antagonistic to religious beliefs, one can see it as offering a complementary perspective," said Vopso.
