The former head of AATIP showed the photograph at a recent private UFO event - but not everything was as it seemed.
Elizondo, who previously headed up the Pentagon's Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program, has been a prominent figure in the UFO disclosure scene in recent years.

A former US Army counterintelligence specialist, the ex-Pentagon official has been vocal in his criticism of the government's handling of the subject and maintains that a cover-up remains ongoing.

His own claims haven't been without their own share of controversy, however.

Most recently, Elizondo gave a talk at a private event in Philadelphia where he revealed to the audience a photograph of an alleged 'mothership' photographed in the clouds above Romania.

At a glance, the image seemed quite impressive and when footage of the event leaked online, it quickly generated considerable debate and intrigue on social media.

Could this image be genuine evidence of extraterrestrial visitors ?

Actually, no, as it turns out.
After the image had emerged, veteran government transparency advocate John Greenewald Jr of The Black Vault fame ran a reverse image search on Google to look for its original source.

What he discovered was that the 'mothership' was in fact little more than a chandelier reflecting off the inside of a window.

So why was it being presented as a classified government photo of a UFO ?

Within a couple of days, Elizondo himself had commented on the blunder by blaming it on "a friend in government" who had given him the photograph a couple of years earlier.

Whatever the case may be, it certainly hasn't done his own reputation any favors.

Definely getting better and better...and also perfectly illustrating all the bull****  "to the stars academy" and "atip" presented...the cause would fill much better without all those clowns.

If Elizondo was for real, the government would have ended him a long time ago.

You have a point there. At a minimum, he would have faced some serious federal charges for illegal removal and distribution of classified materials.

Again he is here presented as former head of AATIP without questioning it. Where is the evidence that he has been head of AATIP?

Said Lesly Kean, said the NY Times, cleverly manipulated by a US Senator Harry Reid and a bunch behind them...or how to lure interested parties or divert exerted pressures on the congress or pentagon.
