The hearing will give several prominent witnesses the opportunity to detail their own experiences.
According to
DefenseScoop, the hearing, which is going to take place on November 13th, will be headed up by the Republicans on the House Oversight and Accountability Committee.
"The Cyber Subcommittee and National Security Subcommittee will hold a joint hearing on UAPs on November 13," a spokesperson told the outlet.
"Cyber Subcommittee Chairwoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) and National Security Subcommittee Chairman Glenn Grothman (R-WI) will co-chair the hearing."
Officially entitled "Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena: Exposing the Truth", the event, which will examine government transparency with regard to cases of UAPs that pose a potential threat to US national security, will also hear testimonies from several witnesses including retired Navy Rear Adm. Timothy Gallaudet who has previously spoken out about USOs (unidentified submerged objects).
Last year, he told
NewsNation correspondent Ross Coulthart that there had been attempts by the US military to cover up the phenomenon and that there are "non-human" entities visiting the planet.
"We're being visited by non-human intelligence with technology we really don't understand and with intentions we don't understand either," he said at the time.
Exactly who else will be testifying at the upcoming hearing remains unclear, as does how much of the proceedings will actually be made available to the general public.
With the topic of UFO transparency being high up on the agenda, however, it would seem contradictory to keep everything that is said at the hearing under wraps.
