A peculiar encounter with a very unusual creature three years ago left one couple desparate for answers.
One recent episode of the revived Unsolved Mysteries TV show on Netflix details the phenomenon of people encountering strange, winged humanoids at locations all across the United States.

Now one such incident has been submitted to Lon Strickler's Phantoms and Monsters website which has spent years collating real-life stories of cryptozoological encounters.

According to the report, a couple had been driving home in Rolling Meadows, Illinois in June 2022 after midnight when they came across something that they couldn't explain.

"As we got close to home, a very large winged creature landed on the road on the opposite side," the woman wrote. "It was dark, but we could see the massive wings that were larger than an SUV."

"The wings were spread out, and we slowed down and stopped the car."
They described the "owl man" as being roughly humanoid in shape and around 4-5ft tall.

"This was no bird. It was huge, and when I shone my lights on it, it shot up so fast into the tall trees and disappeared," the woman wrote.

Keen to find out what they had witnessed, they turned the car around and went back to the same spot but there was no further sign of the creature - it had completely disappeared.

So what could the couple have seen that night ?

Was it the fabled "owl man", or could there have been a more conventional explanation ?

You decide.

That was easily done.

The largest owls can have a height from about 2,5 to 3 feet and a wingspan of over 3 feet. That could easily create the impression of a 4-5 feet tall man.

We've lived here in Eustis about 10 years, during the 1st year I heard a lot of stuff after dark, I startle too easy but don't get scared, We had heard an owl which I didn't think much of besides how loud it was,  One night tired I am putzing around simple chores, I open the upstairs bathroom door, flip on the light which lit the thing outside the window, I also it hit it with my bright flashlight, I had a hell of a startle,  a huge p***ed off owl, eyes glowing from the light , keep in mind I'm seeing a lot thru a window about 3 ft off the ground, the owl lets out a scream and flew fell back... It could be a Mothman that identifies as an Owlman.

You know this because you tracked it with your drone?

I don't understand what you mean. How does one "track" a made up creature with a drone?   Ohhh, I get it. Your still wrapped around the axle about me taking a drone out with me when I go deep woods camping. Still trying to make some sort of connection that I purchased and use it it to "track" Bigfoot or something. Lol, you're funny. But seriously, how would someone track using a drone?

Rolling Meadows is a Chicago suburb. It might have been one of the flying humanoids that have been seen in the Chicago area the past 7 or 8 years or so. "Owlman" is a strange identification that makes me think of England in the 1970s.
