Minnesota man murders his neighbor who he thought was an alien

Credit: MjolnirPants / CC BY-SA 4.0 (adapted) The incident began last week when a witness, who presumably lived at the man's home, recalled being woken up in the middle of the night by the suspect to be told that their neighbor - a 70-year-old woman - was in fact an alien and that a spaceship was coming to take them away.

The man then reportedly called the neighbor up and asked her to come round to help him with something.

When she arrived, he shot her seven times with a firearm.

Somehow she was able to make it back to her house, and while first responders were initially able to ask her what happened, she sadly succumbed to her wounds and died shortly afterward.The suspect was later apprehended after breaking into a nearby house.

Exactly why the man had believed that his neighbor was an alien is unclear, but it would be reasonable to assume that he was either experiencing mental health problems or was under the influence.

Whatever the case, the fear of being carried away in a spaceship prompted him to commit murder.

He will appear in court on August 8th.
