Man discovers that his malfunctioning car is packed full of hazelnuts

One motorist in China got the shock of his life when he was forced to take his vehicle to a local garage.
The man, who hails from Jixi City in China's Heilongjiang Province, had been hearing strange noises coming from his car for quite some time.

It wasn't until the vehicle's heating system began to malfunction as well that he eventually decided to drive to a garage and have a mechanic take a look at it.

When the mechanic opened up the engine compartment, however, he was shocked to discover that the cause of all these issues was in fact a huge stash of hazelnuts.

The nuts were everywhere - filling up all the internal spaces and even the air vents.
In total, it took two hours to completely remove all the hazelnuts from the car's interior.

While it might seem as though a squirrel would be the most likely culprit in all of this, it turned out that the actual animal responsible for stashing all the nuts in the car was a rat.

The car itself had been kept in a garage during the day and it just so happened that the man had been storing a large bag of hazelnuts nearby.

The rat, for whatever reason, had repeatedly snuck into the bag and moved the nuts to the car.

My wife's car had 800 dollars in repairs after some field mice chewed up several wiring harnesses.  The joys of living across the road from a hayfield

That really sucks damn little critters!! The worst thing ever happened to me personally happened at Fort Stewart, Georgia. I was heading out the back road and I ran over a damn armadillo. The damn thing bounced up and down underneath the truck knocked my muffler off. But at least that's the last thing that armadillo ever did it ruined his day!!!!!

so can we assume that buying cars and leaving them in areas where squirrels and rats are present can jump start some nuts business ?  looks like free labour to me .. 20 pounds a car is not bad at all

Why didn't he open the hood & take a look inside instead of taking it to a mechanic? Basic stuff really. I check oil, water and screen wash regularly. Weird.

Probably due to the wiring harnesses being made from soybeans. It happened to my brothers wife by squirrels.  https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a21933466/does-your-car-have-wiring-that-rodents-think-is-tasty/

Mine was sunflower seeds in the heater box. My car was spewing sunflowers hulls from the air vents for years after that.

A mechanic told me about that, and to make sure where you park doesn't encourage rodents.

That's some very good advice, especially in the winter time, rodents, cats, and other animals love to climb up on a warm engine after you get back from a ride.
