The teenager had seemingly managed to take the bus without anyone realizing for quite some time.
According to reports, the bizarre incident began on March 13th when the 15-year-old - who hails from Wiesbaden in Germany - serepticiously snuck into a bus department and gained access to one of the master keys.

He then made his way into one of the buses, started the engine, and drove it away.

At first, nobody had actually realized that the bus had been stolen, instead believing that one of the drivers had simply taken the wrong vehicle by mistake.

Incredibly, despite having no formal training, the boy managed to drive the bus 80 miles to Karlsruhe where he stopped to pick up his girlfriend.
It was shortly after this that police officers finally tracked him down.

Suffice to say, the 15-year-old is now in a lot of trouble, having been charged with a string of offenses ranging from theft of a vehicle to driving without a license.

Exactly how he had managed to steal the master key for the bus remains unclear, as does how he had succeeded in driving such a large vehicle more than 80 miles without incident.

At least he seems to have found his calling - that is, at least, if anyone ever let's him get behind the wheel of a bus again...

I was looking for this comment. I see a CDL with a P endorsement in his future.

Used to help out prison transportation. The bus drivers had to have CDLs with P endorsements. They tried to get me to go up for CDL but I didn’t like transportation that much.

Cool, I bet it paid better money thought. I also never got a CDL, I was in the Military for 23 years. I drove all kinds of vehicle including long hall military 18 wheelers. I even got to drive a tank once, that was really cool. Thanks
