More than 100 coffins have been desecrated by grave robbers making voodoo charms from body parts.
The spate of grave robberies has been condemned by officials and spiritual leaders alike in the West African country of Benin. Those responsible have been resuming bodies from cemeteries, making voodoo good luck charms from the parts and then selling them on for a sizable profit.

"The desecration of graves is about money in this region," said cemetery director Joseph Afaton. "It is for sacrifices, or for bewitching." This isn't the only such case to hit the news in recent times either, last month five people were arrested in Thailand for stealing human skulls and using them to make love charms.
It's a grave situation in the West African country of Benin where more than 100 coffins have reportedly been desecrated in a cemetery near the capital city of Porto Novo, and dozens of bodies mutilated.

''A 2010 Gallup poll found that belief in magic is widespread throughout sub-Saharan Africa; on average 55 percent of Africans believe in witchcraft.''. That's a very high percentage!!

Using human skulls to make love charms? Seems like an oxymoron, but I guess their practices include such bizzareness.

Africa is the origin of voodoo . Nigeria is a hotbed of voodoo ,as is the Congo . This is nothing. I would say much worse goes on in Haiti ,but its never publicized.

I have to say,I find the video of the "zombie squid",much more disturbing . Some guy with a serial killers voice saying ,oh no,its not feeling pain ,while its actually trying to crawl OUT of the bowl . Fail .

I suppose it all comes down to what you're used to. The symbolic canabalism of the sacrement of Communion probably raised a few eyebrows along the way...it's all in how you describe it, and what "normal" means to you.
