Doctors were stunned to discover that conjoined twins Krista and Tatiana seemed to share the same brain.
The twins are joined at the head and appear to not only see through each other's eyes but can also hear each other's thoughts, because of this however it is unlikely that it will ever be possible to separate them.
Conjoined twins Krista and Tatiana have stunned the world's medical experts by seeing through each other's eyes. The pretty four-year-old twins have two separate bodies but share the same brain.

That makes a lot of sense but debateable. After all, you have two bodies and they do show different personalities. If only one brain was involved, wouldn't both bodies mimic each other the same way? Could it be possible, that our concousness and personality does not come from the brain?!

I think there are actually two brains but entwined together, so there are two consciousnesses but neither is specific to one body. no its 1 brain but both bodies respond. For example one of the twin laughs, the other does the same at the same time etc.

thats pretty amazing, but it seems there are misconceptions. i dont think they share just 1 brain completely. they each have a partial brain but they share a thalamus, which explains why they can see what the other sees and why they share sensations. saying they share each others thoughts seems sensationalist. they share sensations and feelings. they cant read each others minds.

Actually, there is only 1 consciousness here, and this consciousness occupies and controls both bodies, not 2 individuals sharing 1 brain. The 'twins' are not looking through each other's eyes; it's one person using 2 pairs of eyes. There are not 2 different persons, but two personalities much like the way someone who suffers from multiple-personality disorders is 1 person but has 2 differing personalities. I think Ashiene has the right of it that this is one person, not two, who simply has two bodies. If both brains can control both bodies and sense from both heads, then this is not two perso... [More]

The chances of a human infant born with the anomaly is very low, in fact a rare feature for one brain in two heads. The story will continually develop by scientific research observers on how a double-person brain functions. To be honest everyone, there are such a thing of conjoined twins. For millions of known people to have been conjoined or sometimes share the same organ, may look "strange" to many of us, but for conjoined people to be part of our regular world is more a part of our diversity we already have.

Incredible. I wonder how their lives are gonna turn out. If they play their cards right they could at least wind up quite wealthy - books, interveiws, movie rights, the talk show circuit etc. Hope they do better than that though. Cheerz.

Yeah that's how it seems to me as well. There is basically one brain. The body just has two sets of everything. I'd be more curious about them acting independently and how that all works ou...
