The apple that never goes brown

A biotechnology company has produced a genetically modified apple that doesn't go brown when sliced.
Okanagan Specialty Fruits believes the new type of apple known as "Arctic" would boost sales of apples for salads and snacks and is currently asking US authorities for approval to go ahead with the project.
A Canadian biotechnology company has asked the U. S. authorities to approve a genetically modified apple that will not brown soon after it is sliced. The apple variety, which is being marketed as ‘Arctic’, has had the genes responsible for producing the enzyme that induces browning switched off.
