Astronomers are on the hunt for a massive undiscovered planet lurking in our own solar system.
The new planet could be four times the size of Jupiter and is thought to be situated 375 times further away from the sun than Pluto. Some scientists believe NASA's Wise telescope has already picked up evidence that its there and that it will be confirmed within the next two years.
If you grew up thinking there were nine planets and were shocked when Pluto was demoted five years ago, get ready for another surprise. There may be nine after all, and Jupiter may not be the largest.

Astronomers Doubt Giant Planet 'Tyche' Exists in Our Solar System A duo of planetary astronomers has grabbed media attention by claiming a planet four times the size of Jupiter may be lurking in the outer solar system. They call the planet Tyche. Many astronomers, however, say it probably isn't there. Matthew Holman, a planetary scientist at the Harvard Smithsonian Institute of Astrophysics, is not a Tyche believer. Though he hasn't read the latest version of Matese's and Whitmire's argument, Holman told Life's Little Mysteries, "Based on past papers that I've seen looking at where long-period... [More]

If I'm not Mistaken. We Look into Distant Galaxies. Every single Day. For A New Life Form. Call me Crazy, but Could this New planet Possibly Be related to a Ancient Prophecy. If you Work out its Orbit in your Head and Just Imagine it For a minute or two. Perhaps it is Aligned with Earth. Could our Fellow Brothers and Sisters from this New Planet be the Ancient Gods of the Sky.?. Also another thought just popped in. Amazing how Many Civilizations have Disappeared every 1000 or 2000 years. This Possible new planet is Large Enough, perhaps the Ancients are Still alive Today. Waiting To Invite Us ... [More]

So at 200 times the distance, Voyager should get to the neighborhood of Tyche in about 4000 years. That is how far away this planet would be. I can't imagine how our world itself would be in 4000 years from now. If Voyager survives that long, I doubt it would even be functional to transmit anything.

Common sense dictates that this doesn't exist. As for it disturbing the oort cloud, how could something that big possibly form and be in that place without it's gravity pulling all of the oort cloud into itself. This is people trying to make a name for themselves, it won't be long before this is tossed to the side and forgotten as the waste of paper it is.

might be possible... i wouldn't know. Bevan_Jordan may be right, many things relate to prophecies... who knows. you all do know that all the planets will align in 2012, right?
