The last ever space shuttle launch is likely to be delayed due to rain and thunderstorms in Florida.
The launch will mark the end of an era for NASA's space shuttle program, Atlantis will be the last shuttle flight. The launch may go ahead over the weekend if the weather permits however July 16th is looking like a stronger possibility.
The shuttle is due to blast off from the Kennedy Space Centre at around 16. 26 BST today. But with cloud, rain and thunderstorms forecast for Florida, the chances of it being postponed are put at 70%. If the start of the shuttle's final journey into orbit is postponed NASA will try again on Saturday or Sunday but may be forced to wait until July 16.
