An Israeli man has divorced from his wife because she chose her brood of 550 pet cats over him.

A court in the town of Beersheba tried to encourage the couple to reach a compromise but it seemed that the man's wife felt that her extensive collection of feline companions meant more to her than her husband. Unable to even sleep in his own bed due to the sheer number of cats in the house, the man had eventually given up trying to reason with his wife.

"When he sat to eat, cats jumped onto the table and stole his food," claimed one report published in the Times of Israel. He was also unable to use the bathroom due to the number of cats that had taken up residence in there.

"Dogs have been known to come between married couples in the past, but it's less common for a partner to choose her HUNDREDS of cats over her lover."

Somehow, I doubt she has litter boxes anywhere in the house. And even if she did, there is no way she could keep up with 550 cats and they won't use a dirty box so you know they are pooping all over the house. I'd bet a million dollars that I don't have the house is a serious health hazard. I'd be a millionaire. I'm sure most of those 550 cats are sick too. She should be thrown into jail for animal cruelty.

You would need to be a millionaire to keep them properly fed. This is just an extreme manifestation of something that is not that uncommon, people "hoarding" pets regardless of what consequences ensue.

I concur with your observation,an unwashed p***y can be extremely overpowering. A good lick however often resolves the problem.

The dwelling where the 550 cats resided could well have been named "***** Galore". (with apologies to James Bond fans )

Cat urine is almost as bad a mice urine, the house would stink, the man cats on top of that would be peeing like crazy on everything they could to mark territory, as well as the huge amount of kitty litter and pet food would be needed. I can understand why he left. I'll stick with dogs
