Man found dead standing up in his kitchen

Authorities investigated the strange case of a man who was discovered dead in a standing up position.

An unnamed friend of 35-year-old Andrew Evans had gone to visit him at his house when he noticed him through the window standing up in his kitchen. Calling to him but receiving no response, his friend went inside and found that he was dead. Evans had seemingly blacked out while reaching up to fetch something down from a cupboard and had remained locked in that position.

An investigation of what had happened later revealed that Evans had injured his head prior to his death, but due to excessive alcohol consumption had not been aware of it. The coroner recorded a verdict of accidental death but noted that the case was 'bizarre'.
