Hikers capture footage of 'Bigfoot' in Canada

A new video has emerged that shows what appears to be a humanoid creature in a remote region.

Ever since the infamous Patterson Bigfoot footage was revealed to the world, videos showing tall hairy hominids have been appearing on a regular basis. The vast majority of these can be immediately written off as hoaxes, but there are still some that intrigue. This latest video has been gaining in popularity since appearing online and is believed to have been filmed in a remote part of British Columbia.

The footage is taken at some distance and shows what looks like an ape-like figure moving slowly between the trees. Given how difficult it is to make out any details of the creature however and with a distinct lack of information about the origins of the video the general consensus at the moment is that the footage is likely to be a hoax.

"It has been the stuff of legends for as long as hikers have been traipsing through the wilderness."

Sorry, but it has been decided by some of the scientific community that " Bigfoot " does actually exist. Apparently they have recently studied hair samples { if I remember correctly } coming from BF and have found it to be a unknown breed of homonid. Hence BF does exist............................ I believe you are referring to a study done by someone that created their own journal to publish the results. An independent lab has also checked the DNA samples and discovered that the DNA in question belongs to an opossum. The original paper worked with badly decomposed material and decided that it... This is a good read. http://www.webpronews.com/bigfoot-hair-samples-to-undergo-new-dna-analysis-2012-05 Stereologist, Melba Ketchum is not the only one to have claimed to have BF hair samples tested. Hair testing is hardly reliable - or atleast not *as* reliable is voice-print matching. that evidence is unmistakable, IMO. But whatever is fair.

Hey alleejg, welcome to UM. If you could kindly point to or link to such scientific evidence I'd greatly appreciate it. All such tests I have ever heard about always end at the word 'inconclusive' as far as I'm concerned. That's scientific jargon for 'we didn't find what we were looking for'. Asked and answered.................this is the link you wanted. Make of it what thy will-http://quasi-mundo.com/2011/10/within-a-hair-of-bigfoot-the-possibility-the-yeti-exists-exceeds-95-per-cent/ and another-http://quasi-mundo.com/2012/11/dna-tests-point-to-yeti-hair-in-siberia/ Enjoy

My thoughts are that the video shows someone wearing a daypack. I do not think this is a logged area. I would venture to guess that this is an area affected by pine beetles. The trees are dead and upright. There are branches on the trees. This is on a hill along a lake. If the photographer thought it was a bigfoot they probably did so because they were surprised that there are people that actually leave the trail and make their way across the countryside without being hemmed in by lines.

Hair testing is hardly reliable - or atleast not *as* reliable is voice-print matching. that evidence is unmistakable, IMO. But whatever is fair. The article states that others are looking. Ketchum claims that her work proves the existence of BF. She claimed that the DNA comes from an unknown hominid. I doubt these other researchers will make the mistake of overlooking opossums as a possible contributor.

I thought the whole "possum" DNA thing was related to that Bigfoot in a Freezer incident, where the DNA of the possum guts and from humans handling all the stuff made the results seem really weird. I don't think any of Ketchum's 3rd party DNA samples came back possum. They came back unknown, or unidentified.

Ketchum labeled unknown some DNA that was identified as opossum by another lab. Here is the link dated July 2, 2013: http://www.the-scien...ld-Opossum-DNA/ Her work has lots of issues... Dr. Todd Disotell (anthropologist at NYU) saw her report. His response to her "findings"... "They used some of the latest cutting edge science....those are real technologies and potentially real data.... They don't show any of the raw data. They just sort of tell their results. Their conclusions do not logically follow from the data. Their conclusions are invalid...I couldn't follow three quarters of that pape... [More]
