Fact or fiction!? With all of the technology and tools we use as ghost hunters, why do you think we have yet to find the answers we are looking for? We know entities and spirits have the potential to be intelligent. They have the energy & power to move objects. They give us direct responses. So why aren't they giving us the answers to questions we ask? In my own opinion, I think there is a huge factor that causes us to become astray from finding these answers. Its because of the fighting I see going on in our field. The paranormal has gotten to be very big on radio and t.v. Its gotten much attention in the newspapers and local magazines. Lets be real for a moment and look at the big picture here. There are a lot of people who are looking to become the next big thing and struggling for stardom. Its gotten so ugly out there it has gone as far as backstabbing, and damaging people's personal lives causing emotional distress. Everyone wants the fame and glory. There's nothing wrong with wanting things in life. There's nothing wrong wanting to dream. I encourage everyone to follow their dreams. But at what price!? Is it worth losing a good friend? Is it worth hurting loved ones or people you care about very much? Some things you can't take back. You have to live with that guilt.
Its great wanting to win the lotto!? But does that mean its going to happen? Not really. I want a lot of things, but unless I earn them or work hard for them I know I am not going to get them. You have to deserve it. People are taking life for granted. They are willing to destroy a life to gain one of their own. Its sick and twisted. Its happened to me, and I've seen it happen to others. I could of lost my job over it. I could of lost my family, my car, my apartment. Everything. All because someone wants to be the next big thing. What you give is what you get. That's a fact.
There are a lot of people who have no idea what it takes to run a group. The organization, the sacrifice, the heart ache, the blood, the sweat and tears. Am I being overly dramatic? Absolutely not. We pay for our equipment out of our own pockets. Its put me in a huge financial hole and I know it has for many others. I am sure its given grief to your families when you go traveling some where hundreds and sometimes thousands of miles away to ghost hunt. Your always putting your safety as well others at risk. There's a lot involved. Its like being a school bus driver. People think there's nothing to it. They are so wrong. You know how many safety courses I have to go through to ensure my students safety? They are a huge responsibility while they are on my bus. I'm responsible if I ever lost the life of a student because If I was careless. I go through extensive training and learn new things every day.
I go to lectures, classes, I read books and articles constantly to learn what I can about the paranormal so I can help my clients.
When I help a client, they are a huge responsibility. Its not just about taking a picture, or a ghost hunter having an opportunity to capture evidence of the paranormal. Since mainstream science does not recognize our field as certifiable we are responsible for our clients well being. Do you know the repercussions that could occur if you do not do right by your clients? The paranormal can effect you in a lot of psychological ways. If your not careful with how you treat your clients, you may cause further damage.
Yeah it was a choice. I chose to go into this field. Why? I want to help people and share my passion because of my own personal experiences. Its changed my life completely around. I look at life different because of it. I think many people have forgotten why they entered this field. Or maybe that's not why they entered it.
The next time you go and poke fun at someone in the field, consider that you might be destroying everything that person has worked hard for in his or her entire life. I have a dream. It may not ever happen in my lifetime. I just wish the fighting would stop. Most of us have a common goal. Just remind yourself if it was worth living with that amount of guilt of destroying someone's life for the expense of being the next big thing. When the fighting stops, perhaps we'll finally find the answers we are looking for. Because together I think we are quite capable at finding the answers.
